What may be done with the photographs, and who to ask.
Every photograph on this site is the work of Bent Rasmussen, and copyright in each of them is his. All rights are reserved.
Nothing here is offered under a licence. Reproducing a photograph, printing it, or publishing it anywhere else — in print, online, or in any other medium — needs written permission first.
Asking
Write to the address below. Say which photograph, where it would appear, and for how long; the terms follow from that. Every photograph has a page of its own, and its address is the plainest way to name one.
Credit
Where permission is given, the credit line is Bent Rasmussen, unless something else is agreed in writing.
What the files say
Every image this site serves is marked before it is published. The copyright notice, the photographer’s name, the photograph’s title and the address of this page are written into the file itself, in XMP and EXIF, so a photograph saved off this site carries its own notice with it. Removing that metadata is its own matter, and changes nothing about the copyright it records.
Text and data mining
Use of these photographs for text and data mining, and for the training or development of machine learning or generative models, is expressly reserved. The reservation is made under Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 and applies to the whole of this site.
